Erin McClain is an American singer, actress, and host who has been entertaining audiences nationwide since the age of six. Originally from Coatesville, PA Erin got her first taste of show business in the Big Apple when she landed a spot on MTV's "Say What Karaoke". It was there she dazzled the judges and received a perfect score with a rendition of Destiny's Childs' "Bills, Bills, Bills". Between takes, Erin had the opportunity to meet the casting director for Spike Lee's production company '40 Acres & a Mule' and was invited to play a small role in Lee's film "Bamboozled". From that introduction, she was asked to appear on MTV's "Jams Countdown" co-hosting with Tyrese Gibson (Fast & The Furious).
Having caught the acting bug, Erin began accepting commercial & print work. Soon after, she landed her first international gig singing background vocals for an American reggae artist touring in Japan - this proved an experience she would never forget.
"I was truly amazed by the fact that so many of our international fans did not speak English, yet had still learned all the words to our songs. It symbolized the power that music has to transcend time, space, and language."
After returning to the states, Erin graduated from Temple University with a B.A in Communications & Theater and began working at Banyan Productions (Philadelphia, PA) and later MTV News (New York City, NY). Between work and volunteering with several youth music programs, Erin also found time to perform on stage and sing at various theaters & live music venues in the Tri-State area. In 2009, she placed as a semi-finalist in the Miss Pennsylvania USA pageant (Trump Organization).
Since relocating to Los Angeles, CA Erin has shared the stage performing with John Mayer and Gustavo Dudamel. She has also performed for the likes of Herbie Hancock and YoYo Ma at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, and was the featured vocalist at the Black Women in Hollywood event honoring legendary entertainer Diahann Carroll. In addition, she also performed as part of the opening act for Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, and Al Green (Spirit Awards, Las Vegas). In 2015, Erin provided background vocals for Shoshana Bean on Post Modern Jukebox's old jack swing rendition of Bell Biv Devoe's "Poison" which hit 1.5M views on Youtube in its first week. During the Summer of 2017, Erin appeared on TBN's, "Hour of Power" as a background vocalist performing two songs with Grammy award winning Gospel legend Bebe Winans. Erin is currently featured in a national commercial for "Living Spaces" and working on her EP.
